Analysing Conventions of Film Posters - Introduction

As I will be creating a poster for my film, I want to find out what the general conventions of posters are, so that I can include as many of these conventions in my poster. 

I will look at five posters from different film genres to see if there are similarities between the conventions regardless of the genre. The posters I will analyse are:

'Wicked Little Letters' - Comedy

'Black Panther' - Superhero

'High Life' - Sci-fi

'About Time' - Romantic Comedy

'Abigail' - Horror

'Jackie Brown' - Crime
