Analysing Theatrical Trailers - Introduction
Analysing Theatrical Trailers - Introduction
A theatrical trailer is a marketing device used to showcase the essence of a film in about 2 - 3 minutes. The general convention is for this kind of trailer to introduce the main characters, the plot, complications that arise and give an indication as to how they may be resolved. There is usually a voiceover between the montages of the elements of the film to bring it together and make sense to the audience. This type of trailer is to generate excitement and act as a hook to want the audience see the film. These trailers will include title cards, production company idents, the name of the film, a tagline and the film's release date.
I am going to look at theatrical trailers for two films:
'Deadpool & Wolverine'
'Mickey 17'
