The second set of trailers I will analyse come from the action/comedy 'Red One'.

'Red One' Theatrical Trailer


  • Name of film companies (idents at start)
  • Variety of music throughout the sequence - Christmas music, comedy/action music - all non-diegetic
  • Main characters all introduced
  • The plot line is revealed so everyone knows what the film is about. Father Christmas has been abducted and they have 24 hours to find him and save Christmas
  • Reference to the directors producing 'Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle' (on a title card) - thus indicating to the audience what type of film it will be
  • Some dialogue played - showing that it is an action/comedy (genre)
  • Release date given for November 15 on title card
  • Magical creatures introduced with a sci-fi theme
  • Name of the film near end (animated title card)
  • Reference to playing at IMAX to increase revenue stream and only in theatres (not being streamed online)

  • Different images from the other trailers revealing new shots to the audience
