Analysing Film Posters - Conclusion

Now that I have looked at a number of film posters from different genres I have spotted the following conventions which I will try and include in my poster.

Film Title/Name (largest copy)

Billing Block (bottom)

Release Date (bottom)

Reviews (often reference genre and plot)

Tagline (usually short, usually references genre and plot)

Dominant Central Image (of the main character/s)

Other Smaller Images

Production Company Logos (near/part of the billing)

Names of Actors

Reference to Format (3D or IMAX)

Name of Director (usually above the title

Source Material

Reference to Other Films (director/producer)

Certificate/Rating

Website/Social Media

Reference to Awards

Reference to Merchandise

Sound Logos
